Known as the quintessential comfort food, macaroni and cheese pleases the palate and warms you from the inside out. NH’s dairy farmers are once again looking for the best mac and cheese in New Hampshire.

Do you have what it takes to enter the cheesy gauntlet to greatness?

NH dairy farmers are on a quest to find those who can turn this classic comfort food into a culinary masterpiece. The competition is open to all who think their dish is worthy of the prestigious grand champion award and the title of New Hampshire’s Best macaroni and cheese!

Contestants can enter into one of four categories;

  • Best NH Made- Made with 100% milk and cheese from NH dairy producers.
  • Best Traditional – You know, the kind grandma use to make. Any dairy product or brand may be used.
  • Most Creative or Exotic - You name it, as long as its macaroni and cheese based, you can enter it. Any dairy product or brand may be used.
  • Best Restaurant –Open to restaurants, cafes and eateries.

Entries will be judged on texture, taste and overall cheesiness by professional judges and NH dairy farmers. Each category will have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes. The winner of each category will move on for their chance to be the 2012 grand champion.

Once again, Master Chef, Jeffrey Paige of Cotton Restaurant in Manchester will feature the winning NH Made recipe on his menu. Yet another opportunity for mac and cheese greatness!

For those who would like to taste and not bake, tickets will be at the door for $10. The public can cast their vote for the “People’s Choice award.” Score cards will be handed out for tasters to vote on their favorite recipes.

New Hampshire’s second Macaroni & Cheese Bake-Off promises to warm your soul on a cold January day. Get those recipe books out NH and show NH dairy farmers what you’ve got.
