New Hampshire Cheesemakers Guild What is the New Hampshire Cheesemakers Guild? The New Hampshire Cheesemakers Guild is an organized group of New Hampshire cheesemakers who share ideas and resources to increase consumer awareness of locally produced cheese products. The group joined forces with the NH Dept. of Agriculture, the NH Dept of Tourism and the NH Winery Association, to create a Wine and Cheese Trail that offers tourists and locals and opportunity to explore New Hampshire's vineyards and creameries. Recently this group has partnered with the Granite State Dairy Promotion, and will be developing their web presence at this location. Stay tuned for everything cheese! New Hampshire Cheesemakers
The creamery was established in 1995 and now produces cow’s milk farmstead cheeses in the following varieties: aged cheddar, smoked cheddar, Caerphilly, Coulommier, Jersey Jack, and brie, as well as a variety of fresh soft cheese spreads. All of our cheeses are made by hand in small batches using time-honored methods. As a small family business, we are committed to a product that helps people stay connected to their local farms. We are proud to have the distinction of producing New Hampshire’s only Cheddar, and are happy to be listed in ‘The Great Cheeses of New England’ at www.newenglandcheese.com.
Via Lactea Farm is a small, diversified farm located in Brookfield. In 1994 Andy and Jenny Tapper resurrected an abandoned 1798 homestead and pursued their dream of owning and operating a self-sufficient farm. They cleared land for gardens and pasture, renovated the house and built outbuildings and barns, and learned animal husbandry with a small menagerie of livestock and poultry. As the farm grew their dream evolved and today the farm is home of Brookfield Dairy Goat Milk Products. With the milk from their herd of 30 dairy goats, Jenny produces a variety of goat milk cheeses, yogurt and raw milk in glass bottles in a licensed dairy plant. Brookfield dairy products are sold at the farm, farmers’ markets and local grocers and restaurants. The farm produces poultry, pork, chevon, fresh eggs and maple syrup, which are sold from their farm storefront. Andy also manages the farm woodlot and processes firewood for sale locally. www.vialacteafarm.com
