Home cooks may enter into one of three categories:
Best Traditional Mac
Best Creative/Exotic Mac
Best NH Made Mac (dairy ingredients must be NH made)
Best Restaurant

Winners in each homestead category (“People’s choice” included) will receive:

All contestants are eligible to win the “People’s Choice” award

    Rules, terms and conditions:

    • Registration and recipes must be submitted between November 19th, 2016andJanuary 9th, 2017.  There is a $10.00, non-refundable entry fee. Registration and recipes will be accepted from everyday home cooks who are 18 years of age or older. If you are a group or club, an advisor or adult over the age of 18 must be present. Recipes will be accepted from fully licensed NH restaurants, cafes, and eateries. Restaurants will not compete against home chefs.
    • Contestants requesting free cheese from Cabot must register by December 14th, 2016. Cheese will not be shipped if your registration fee has not been paid in full. You will be invoiced for cheese if you withdraw from the bake off.  Cheese cannot  be returned.


    • NH Made Category ONLY: Contestants entering this category must use milk and cheese made at, or by, an appropriately licensed NH dairy farm. Ingredients such as butter, noodles, flour or other miscellaneous ingredients are not subject to the NH Made requirement. Only the milk and cheese must be NH made. 
    • Entries:  Each entry must include:
      • Online registration form completed in full;
      • Named recipe, including all ingredients and their exact U.S. measurements or weights;
      • Complete preparation and cooking instructions


    • By submitting your recipe, you accept all contest rules and agree to be bound by the decisions of the bake-off judges, which will be final.  All entries, including recipes, and all legal rights and interests in them, including the rights of copyright, become the exclusive joint property of the Event Organizers (Granite State Dairy Promotion), who reserve the right to edit, adapt, publish, or transfer.
    • Each contestant hereby grants the Event Organizers permission to use their name, likeness, and personal information in any media relating to his/her participation for publicity, promotion, advertising, and other purposes without further notice or additional compensation to promote the Bake-Off.


    • Each contestant may be required to make him/herself available for press and radio interviews during or after the conclusion of the bake-off. Contestants understand their photos may be taken and published in newspapers, magazines, or other printed materials related to the event. Contestants also agree to have their names and recipes mentioned on radio and or television.
    • It is the responsibility of bake off contestant(s) to keep their dish(s) properly heated at 145 degrees during the event.  Dishes must be warm upon arrival. Ovens are not available prior to or during the event. Bringing your own heating element or chafing dish is a REQUIREMENT. Food temperatures will be checked.


    • Bake off contestants must wear food service gloves and keep long hair tied back while serving their dish. Food service gloves will be provided by the Event Organizer.
    • All recipes and ingredients must be posted and visible to the public. This is a requirement to ensure the safety of our contestants, judges, and public participants.


    • Every competitor should make enough macaroni and cheese to serve 250 people (2oz. servings). Granite State Dairy Promotion will provide every contestant with a supply of 2oz. sampling cups. DO NOT PANIC: This sounds like a lot; 2 extra-large(restaurant style) tinchafing pans will be enough. You are only serving 2 ounces to each person.
    • Contestantsmust arrive with their Macaroni & Cheese dishes between 10:45 and 11:45pm. Judges will begin judging dishes at 12:00. Doors open to the public at 1:00pm.


    • Dishes will be judged on flavor, texture, cheesiness, creaminess,and overall appearance.  Judge's decisions are final.


    Bake-Off Provisions: Granite State Dairy Promotion will supply each contestant with the following equipment for his/her use during the event:

    • Station table and table cloth
    • Two Food service aprons (Official event aprons; a gift to take home)
    • Food service gloves
    • Food temperature thermometers
    • Unlimited supply of 2oz. sampling cups
    • Spoons
    • Napkins
    • Signage clearly indicating your recipe and category
